Gallaudet

Since I don’t watch the news often, and I’m not interpreting at the moment, a joke on the radio was the first word I heard of the unrest at Gallaudet University. While the gates have been unlocked, and classes have resumed, the major issue that prompted the protests has not, and might not ever, be resolved.

Check out these webpages, and let me know what you think of the situation (esp. you Deaf gals ;)) The last site is a video of a speech in American Sign Language, so if you don’t know ASL, you can skip that one. 🙂

  2. Thanks, that is a great article. Here’s a link to a bunch of the letters that have been written to/from the university about this situation: http://gufssa.com/
